Over the years taking this cap on and off your master cylinder causes nicks and cuts and sometimes leaks. If you are rebuilding your original master cylinder and the cap is starting to leak replace it with one of these. # 14702 will work on any 1957 classic Chevy with an original brake master cylinder.
