    Auto Antenna lead

After purchasing your new Custom Autosound Radio, whether it is the 740, 630 or Slidebar, it is recommended to bench test the radio to make sure all functions work properly before installation. Once you have tested the radio and are ready to install, disconnect the negative lead from the battery. You will reconnect the lead once all the wiring is complete.

To disassemble the current radio, start by removing the knobs and nuts from the shafts. Unplug the main wire harness and speaker leads from the back of the stereo. Disconnect the antenna lead and mounting strap from the stereo. The original stereo is now ready to be removed. Check the original radio from any damage that may have occurred over the years such as water damage or wiring issues that may cause damage to the new radio.

Utilizing the bracket that comes with the radio, attach it to the back of the radio using the hardware given. Insert the Custom Autosound stereo in the opening in the dash and place the bezel and nut on both output shafts. Take the mounting strap and bend it in place to be mounted to the firewall or a preexisting screw hole.

When wiring in the new radio, refer to the wire diagram given. Two speakers are required to allow the proper function of the radio. If less than four speakers are being used, tape off the remaining speaker leads to prevent a short. Reconnect the negative battery lead back on the battery.

The radio comes with the new dash bezels and knobs for you to install and replace your old ones.

Once your radio is installed and the wiring is finished, check all the functions once more on the radio before putting the rest of the dash back together. Now you’re ready to listen to your favorite music while cruising down the road, going to your local car show or just out for ice cream.
